Eddie (Zack) Herrera passed away suddenly in Woodland on Nov. 21, 2012, after battling diabetes and kidney failure.
Born on Jan. 30, 1950, in Alamosa, Colo., he will be remembered for his humor and love of nature. He was very proud of his Native American heritage. He leaves many friends and will be sadly missed by his family.
He is survived by four sisters, Linda Dominguez, Felisa Herrera, Lori Thomas and Denise Schroeder; brothers-in-laws Frank Thomas and Leslie Schroeder; brothers Tommie and Ron Herrera; half-brothers Leroy and Frank Martinez; half-sister Angela Alarid; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Shadow.
He was preceded in death his father, Abel Herrera; brothers Steve and Amos Herrera; and mother Bernice Flores.
Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, at Holy Rosary Church, 301 Walnut Ave. in Woodland. His ashes will be scattered in Colorado.
