Eric Haverstock was conceived in Bryte, born in Woodland, spent his childhood in Davis, his adulthood in Woodland, and died in Davis of ALS. Eric was pleased that it was “Yolo County to the end.”
A boisterous man with a heart of gold, Eric leaves behind countless friends. He liked nothing better on a Saturday night than to enjoy a smoke while listening to Quick Silver Messenger Service. Always interested in politics and current events, Eric could never figure out whether he was the smartest dumb person in the world or the dumbest smart person. He recently said his greatest mistake ever was the time he said he’d easily outlive Keith Richards.
Eric is survived by his best friend Karen Treacher, siblings David (Audrey) Haverstock, Nancy (Hans) Abplanalp, Linda (Sam) Citron, Carol (Jerry) Kinkennon, and nieces and nephews Russell, Amber and Cara Haverstock; Mike, Alex and Nick Abplanalp; Hadley and Zevik Citron; and Kelly Haverstock. He is predeceased by his parents, Russell and JoAn Haverstock.
Contributions can be made in Eric’s memory to the Woodland Public Library, 250 First St., Woodland, CA 95695; or to Team Davis, a nonprofit organization supporting activities for children and adults with disabilities, P.O. Box 1024, Davis, CA 95617.
Roll on, you crazy stone, roll on.
