Helen B. Rowe passed away peacefully on June 1, 2011, at the age of 98. Helen lived in Davis for more than 85 years. She married her high school sweetheart, James Gray Rowe Jr., and they were happily married for more than 58 years. Helen worked for the UC Davis math department for 35 years.

She lived life to the fullest, enjoying spending time with friends and family, and playing games; her favorites were Scrabble, Skipbo, Bridge and Spite and Malice. She always boasted of her winnings, taking pride in the nickels that she won from her friends.

She also enjoyed traveling, especially to her favorite place, Hanalei Bay, Kauai.

Helen will be greatly missed by all her wonderful and special friends as well as by her surviving granddaughter, Tracy Prescott-Bentley, and her granddaughter’s family, husband Mike, and great-grandchildren Steven and Madelyn. She was loved by so many and brightened each of our lives with her incredible sense of humor, positive attitude and unconditional love.

Please join us to celebrate her life on Thursday, June 16, at 3:30 p.m. at the University Retirement Community, 1515 Shasta Drive, Davis. Donations may be made to the Davis Community Church, 412 C St., Davis, CA 95616.
