June Woodard died on Thursday, July 24, 2013. She was born on Jan. 30, 1926, to Ole and Laura Pederson in Marysville, and raised on a farm in the Yuba City-Sutter area.

She attended grade school and high school in Sutter. In 1944 she attended Franklin School of Nursing in San Francisco and graduated in 1947 as a Registered Nurse.

In 1947 she married Allen Woodard. They had two children, Diana K. Gould of Davis and Daryl Woodard of San Francisco. They had one grandchild, Ian Evans Gould. He and his wife live in Glendale, Ariz., with their children Emma June and Ian Allen.

She was preceded in death by her husband Allen in 1993 and her brother Donald Pederson. She is survived by her sister Carol Schmidt, son-in-law Wayne Gould, and many cherished nieces and nephews.

June belonged to Davis Lutheran Church and had good friends there as well as other lifelong friends who were with her until the end. She was open to every person she met and always saw the good in them. We will miss her so much.

Her memorial services have not yet been determined. They will be announced at a later date.
