Marguerita (Maggie) Castañon-Hill

Marguerita (Maggie) Castañon-Hill passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at the young age of 70. Maggie was raised in Davis and graduated Davis High School in 1961; thereafter, she resided in the East Bay Area. Maggie was friendly, outgoing and lived to spend time with her family and friends. Her home was home to many. Her door was always open. Maggie was the first woman sales representative for Random House Book Publishers where she worked for more than 30 years. She was loved by all her colleagues and anyone that she met though her travels.
Maggie was the seventh of nine children born to Tereso and Dionicia. She is survived by her siblings Teresa, Helen, Dolores, David, John and Carlos; her children Misti Mussatto, Rito, Amalia and Elista; and grandchildren Alana, Briana, Davidani, Kariana, Marguerita, Ryann, Tyler and Valcour.
A Celebration of Maggie’s Life will be held at noon at the Putah Creek Lodge on the UC Davis Campus, Sunday, May 11. In lieu of flowers, please make monetary donations in Maggie’s honor to the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic in Oakland that provides free alternative care for Women with breast cancer where she volunteered for many years.
