April 23, 1931 – Jan. 3, 2014

Marion Famula passed away peacefully on Jan. 3, 2014, following a brief illness. She was born in Newark, N.J., to Rudolf and Margaret Haferkorn, on April 23, 1931.
She lived in New Jersey for most of her adult life until moving, with husband Don to Davis in 1987 to join their children and grandchildren.

Marion thoroughly enjoyed life in California where she was especially fond of visits to the ocean and redwoods, and trips to Lake Tahoe and Cache Creek. She was a talented artist and was generous in her gifts of paintings depicting favorite scenes and locations for family and friends. She was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed her many opportunities to share in the varied interests and experiences of her five granddaughters.

Marion is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Famula, son Tom (Michelle) of Davis and daughter Candace of Woodland, as well as granddaughters Melissa, Jessica (Eduardo) and Randi Famula, and Danielle and Stephanie Galasso.

The family expresses their gratitude to the caring medical staff of Sutter Medical Group and nursing staff of Yolo Hospice, as well as supportive neighbors and friends. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Marion are asked to consider a charitable donation to Yolo Hospice.
