The family of U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens has announced that a memorial celebration of his life will take place Tuesday, Oct. 16, at 4:30 p.m. in the Rotunda of the San Francisco City Hall, No. 1, Carleton B. Goodlett Place at Grove Street.

The program, with speakers from his family, Libya and the U.S. Department of State, and musical interludes, is expected to last approximately an hour.

The Stevens family lived in Davis for several years, and Chris Stevens attended both elementary and junior high school in Davis. His mother is Mary Floris (Stevens) Commanday, and his father is retired California Assistant Attorney General Jan S. Stevens.
