David was ordained as a Lutheran minister of the Augustana Evangelical Lutheran Church in 1957. He thereafter served in parishes in Lafayette, Minn.; Warren, Oregon; Enumclaw, Wash.; Clovis and Fresno, Calif. He worked to combine his final parishes, First English, St. Paul and Our Saviors, all ELCA congregations in Fresno, into a single church, Our Saviors, which continues to thrive and serve the Fresno Community. He devoted considerable time to assisting the mentally ill and the elderly. Pastor Lundgren was beloved of many and will be missed greatly by his friends, family and parishioners.
