Peter David Logefeil

Peter, Logefeil

June 22, 1958 — June 27, 2014

Peter David Logefeil died on Friday, June 27, in the UC Davis Burn Center in Sacramento. He was 56.

Born in Richmond and raised in Sacramento, he lived in Davis the last 15 years where he washed windows for A Touch of Glass. He loved Davis, which he called “Mayberry,” and enjoyed meeting the clients he met through his job.

Music was central to Pete’s life. He played the flute, piano and drums, often jamming with friends — some going as far back as elementary school. Pete’s friends tended to last a lifetime and there were many. He was also an accomplished artist and songwriter, a great storyteller, and a very funny and tender-hearted man.

Though Pete’s cause of death was from burn injuries suffered in a fire, the underlying cause was alcoholism which he battled all his life.

He is survived by his two sisters, Diane Lauro of Davis and Judy Teater of Rocklin. His nieces and nephews, who all loved ”Uncle Pete”, are Amy Logefeil; Sarah, Jesse and Elizabeth Lauro; and Danny and Rachel Teater.

We miss him already.
