Father Richard Blinn, S.J., 77, died in Los Gatos on Wednesday, May 11. He had been a member of the Society of Jesus for 53 years and an ordained priest for 41 years.

Father Richard served in a variety of capacities in pastoral and educational positions during his lifetime. In 1990 he began an 18-year association with St. James Parish in Davis.

In 2008 declining health brought him to the Jesuit retirement center in Los Gatos. He had a great love for the outdoors and the beauty of nature, which came through in his photography.
