Richard Dean Dunlap
Oct. 6, 1959 — Feb. 14, 2012
Richard Dean Dunlap died Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012 in his home in Sun Valley.
He born in Sacramento on Oct. 6, 1959. He was raised in Davis and graduated from Davis High School in 1978. He enlisted in the Air Force, completed a tour in Germany, and later worked as a civilian at McClellan Air Force Base for 10 years.
He loved watching the space shuttle at Edwards Air Force base and enjoyed music, dancing and playing cards. He will be missed for his sense of humor and kindness to others.
He is survived by his mother, Sandra Barbara Roy and stepfather Phil Roy of Palm Desert; father Otis Dean Dunlap and stepmother Beverly Dunlap of Port Orford, Ore.; sisters Linda Nicholoni of Modesto, and Barbara Tucker and husband Stephen Tucker of Woodland; niece Crystal Kay Medlock; and nephews Dustin Medlock and Stephen Wise. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Kay Medlock of Davis, in 2007.
He will be laid to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. The service will be private.
