Ronald D. Broward

Broward, Ronald

April 3, 1933 – May 8, 2013

Ronald Douglas Broward left us peacefully to continue his journey on May 8. 2013. Ron was born in Los Angeles, CA on April 3, 1933. He is survived by his wife Jennifer; children Dennis and Karen Broward; stepchildren, Julie and Marty Johnson, Jim and Melissa Webb and Jody Sisemore; grandchildren, Jacob (Jamie) Broward, Eric (Fiona) Broward, Sydney Rose Broward, Courtney and Brittney Johnson, Jordan, Brynn and Charley Webb, and Ryan and McKenna Sisemore; and great-grandchildren, Ben, Bailee, Josie Rose, Will and Luke Broward.

Ron and Jennifer enjoyed wonderful travels, frequent trips to Costco where he loved to grab a hot dog, and searching for golf balls at their home in El Macero. Ron started his career as a U.S. Marine serving in Korea. He was a general contractor in Davis for many years and co-founder of Sudwerk Brewery.

For the past 15 years, his true passion as a Marine was the work he did at JPAC, which was successfully helping identify soldiers still missing in action from the Korean War. It was his honor and privilege to work with an amazing group of people at JPAC. His dedication to this mission will not be forgotten and it will continue, 35 and counting until they are home. Semper Fidelis.

A special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Pirruccello, Dr. Yee, the nurses and staff at Woodland Healthcare Infusion Center, Yolo Hospice and Ted: You all have an incredible gift.

Services are scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA 95620. A celebration of life will follow at Sudwerk, 2001 Second St. in Davis.

Donations may be made to Yolo Hospice. McNary’s Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
