Kelly, Shirley-2

March 12, 1936 — Feb. 27, 2013

Surrounded by family, Shirley Kay Kelly passed peacefully after a five-week illness on Feb. 27, 2013. Born on March 12, 1936, she was 76.

A resident of Davis for 44 years, she worked as an office manager and retired from UC Davis Alumni Association.

Her pride and joy was her family. She loved to be in the middle of family events — planning, cooking and decorating. She loved to camp and travel and went on several family cruises to Alaska, the Caribbean, Hawaii and Europe with her husband Don Kelly who preceded her in death in 2010. She had a wonderful smile, a twinkle in her eye and a laugh that just didn’t quit.

She was a member of Davis Gourmet Group and The Tastebuds online groups. She was an avid crafter and loved cross stitch, crocheting and knitting, which she also taught.

She is survived by her daughters, Lynda Stapleton of Sacramento, Laura Kelly of Davis (and her husband, Kevin), Nancy Klisiewicz of Davis (and her husband Paul) and Kathi Amoroso of Martinez (and her husband Andy); grandchildren Kyle Kelly of South Carolina (and wife Kimberly), Shaun Stapleton of Illinois, Michael Reed of Maryland (and wife Catherine), Kayla Kelly of New York, Taylor and Megan Klisiewicz of Davis, and Scott Amoroso of Martinez; and great-grandson Caden James Kelly of South Carolina.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a memorial at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 7 at the Davis Community Church, 412 C St. in Davis.
