Terry Holliday

Oct. 17, 1925 — Jan. 17, 2013

Terry Holliday, Ph.D., DVM, died peacefully at his home in Santa Rosa on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013. He was 87 years old.

Born Oct. 17, 1925, in Corvallis, Mont., Terry was one of the first graduates of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, and an internationally recognized and respected scientist, scholar, professor and mentor to many. He served in the Army during World War II before attending veterinary school, was in private practice for several years before pursing his graduate education, and served on the school’s faculty from 1965 to 1989.

He is survived by daughter Marisa of Santa Rosa, son Scott of Sacramento and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse of 54 years, Mary Margaret Holliday, in 2003.

Interment will take place at Davis Cemetery at 1 p.m. Feb. 8. The family requests that remembrances in Terry’s honor be made to the UC Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine, P.O. Box 1167, Davis, CA 95617.
