Davis council could set positive example

Note: The following is a copy of a letter to the Davis City Council on Nov. 20

Dear City Council Members,

I appreciate that you are not following the attempt of New York and several other cities to attack the Occupy Wall Street movement. The main objectives of OWS are to enhance social justice and reduce the influence of money in our political process. I also understand the frustration of UC students, when expenses for education are increasing and job opportunities are decreasing. The OWS objectives reflect the needs of our society.

As elected representatives of Davis citizens, declare your support for the OWS movement, and start a dialogue with OWS participants about how to implement their objectives in our city.

Your support and cooperation with the OWS movement will place Davis in a positive and leading position at the national and international level.
