Some balance on football?
Great kudos to Joan Blake for her piece in The Enterprise on Sunday, Nov. 20, about the time demands of DHS football player participation.
Joan, I don’t know you but I want to praise you for your very great courage and conviction in going public with your feelings. I would expect that some wrath might come upon you for speaking the truth about football in Davis, which I personally feel is way overglorified in The Enterprise.
There is much universal truth to the biblical theme of “killing the messenger.” Personally, it makes my stomach turn to see how youth football at all levels is glorified in the pages of The Davis Enterprise.
Thank you, Joan, for providing the beginnings of some balance about football in Davis and thank you to The Enterprise editors for printing Joan’s piece.
