UC Davis Police Brutality
When I saw the video of the police brutality on the UC Davis campus yesterday it made me wonder if the UC Regents, the UC Davis chancellor and the UC Davis police had just attended a workshop conducted by Bashar al-Assad of Syria on how to extinguish dissident behavior.
I could hardly believe my eyes at what I saw.
But then as Mario Savio said on Dec. 2, 1964 at Sproul Hall at UC Berkeley in order to effect the machine.
“There’s a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can’t take part. You can’t even passively take part. And you’ve got to put our bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus and you’ve got to make it stop. And you’ve got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it, that unless you’re free, the machine will be prevented from working at all.” Mario Savio Dec. 2, 1964
It’s time to join the protesters; the machine has become so odious.
