Though it’s only been one and a half months since Davis’ newest Indian and Himalayan restaurant had its grand opening, it’s already received rave reviews from customers, according to waiter Anil Neupane.
“They say the food is good, the service is good, that it’s a good Indian restaurant,” Neupane said.
Bombay Dreams occupies the site where Tacos and Beer was formerly located.
The tables at Bombay Dreams are outfitted with crisp white cloths and full dining silverware. South Asian-themed artwork decorates the walls. Neupane described the atmosphere as formal, with excellent customer service.
That’s what sets this restaurant apart, according to Neupane. “It’s the quality of the service, the good quality meals.”
The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 10 p.m. every day of the week.
The food served is a generous selection of Indian cuisine, including vegetable dishes, chicken, seafood, lamb, tandoori and biryani.
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., diners serve themselves from a lunch buffet, which includes a variety of more than 25 dishes to choose from, such as rice, vegetarian dishes, meat dishes, tandoori dishes, desserts and, of course, plenty of naan bread.
After 5 p.m., diners are seated at the tables and waiter and waitresses take orders.
The restaurant recently became license to sell alcohol and will be opening a bar next week. Drinks such as beer and wine will be served from Monday to Friday.
The restaurant is also thinking of doing a happy hour from 3 to 5 p.m. once they begin serving alcohol, Neupane said.
Bombay Dreams’ efforts to please diners seems to be paying off.
“Everyone comments, ‘We will come again,’ ” Neupane said.
