The Christensens have had ample time to build up that goodwill, given that PDQ has been in business for some 30 years now.

Located at 216 F St. downtown, PDQ boasts a quiet exterior that belies the activity inside, where friendliness and humor and good old-fashioned customer service keep drawing Davisites back for everything from packaging and shipping to fingerprinting and notary services.

Fingerprinting is offered for law school students, child care providers, the insurance industry, banking, notaries, nurses, teachers and anyone else needing California Department of Justice or FBI clearance.

When it comes to packaging and shipping, there is rarely an item that PDQ turns away. Regardless of what customers bring in, PDQ will find a way to send it. The shop is fully stocked with more than 100 boxes and mailers of all shapes and sizes.

The Christensens’ children — Gary, Katie and Landon — have served as everything from “packing man” to manager over the years, making this popular Davis business truly a family affair.
