SACRAMENTO Ñ The Davis High junior varsity football team stuck with Grant until the very end of FridayÕs game, before losing, 13-0.

Pacer running back Marquis Carter danced into the end zone twice in the last two minutes to whisk the game away from DHS.

The Devil defense put on a great show against a high-powered offense, as they forced five turnovers in a game dusted with light rain. Unfortunately, the slippery conditions affected Davis as well, and the Blue Devils turned the ball over six times to balance out the possessions.

ÒWeÕve proved we can play with anybody,Ó DHS head coach Mike Satre lamented. ÒWeÕve played close with Grant, weÕve played close with Franklin, we just have to avoid mistakes.Ó

Kevin Sorensen rushed for 69 yards in the first half, but was hampered by a collection of injuries. In all, the Devils used six ball carriers to run for 120 yards on the game.
