The UC Davis men’s basketball team will host Northern Colorado on Saturday, Feb. 23, at The Pavilion as part of the Ramada Worldwide BracketBusters event.
The announcement was made Monday on ESPNU’s 2013 BracketBusters Selection Show but the tip-off time is still to be determined.
For the Aggies, this is the second straight BracketBusters pairing involving a Big Sky opponent as they earned a five-point road victory over Northern Arizona in last year’s event. UCD is 2-3 all-time in BracketBusters games, including a win at Boise State in 2009-10.
The Aggies last faced UNC on Feb. 11, 2006, with UCD winning 86-73 at home.
The two-day BracketBusters features 122 teams from 13 conferences, the largest pool in the event’s history, including all 10 Big West squads. As part of the agreement, all BracketBusters hosts will play a return game at the home facility of their opponent next season in November or December.
Of the 13 games to be broadcast on ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3, two will feature teams from the Big West. Long Beach State will host Steven F. Austin in an ESPNU game televised on Feb. 22, with Pacific traveling Western Michigan for a game that will be shown on ESPN3 on Feb. 23.
