Another offensive onslaught wins it for DHS boys

Finding the net 17 times for the second straight game, the Davis High boys lacrosse team won at Tamalpais, 17-10, on Friday.

The Blue Devils led most of the way, then poured it on in the fourth period to pull away.

Griffin McNamara and Sam Eaton led all scorers with four goals each for DHS, which improved to 7-2. The Devils’ Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Conference opener is set for Tuesday, when it hosts Lincoln at 7:30 p.m.

On Friday, Mark Bruemmer added a hat trick for the Devils and two goals each from Logan Davis, Ryan Amesbury and Jed Arvin completed the scoring.

While the local offense stayed hot, with the help of good face-off work from Connal Hart and Jake Hammond, the Davis defense prevented the Red Hawks from scoring on all but one man-down sequence.

That strong defense was paced by Blue Devil goalie Vikram Prathap, Sam Gellen, Liam Condon and Hart, who finished with a team-best eight ground balls.
