Blue Devil girls crush Casa Roble

ORANGEVALE — A goal by Davis High girls lacrosse senior Ally Weir, normally the team’s goalkeeper, highlighted the Blue Devils’ 18-0 victory at Casa Roble on Wednesday.

Senior defender Liz Leshuk donned the pads and played in goal for DHS (8-7, 6-2) with Weir in the field.

One day after a competitive road win at St. Francis, the Devils showed no signs of fatigue in ripping the Rams on Wednesday.

Junior Sarah Bloise tallied four times for the locals, who got two goals apiece from freshman Darby Maguire, sophomores Vivi Kirsch and Julia Zabala and junior Ellie Meinert.

Davis spread the ball around well — many of the goals were assisted — as junior Jamie Bautista, sophomores Abby Meyer and Sarah Sherwin and freshmen Nicole Pugh and Camille Renaud each found the net once.

The Blue Devils will wrap up the regular season at Oak Ridge on Tuesday, then await word on a possible playoff berth.
