I would like to think that I too am neutral observer. I give credit to Franklin, they are a good team and they played good solid defense. Both side gave as good as they got, Franklin and Davis both were physical. But to claim Davis lost because they did not adjust their offense was not what I saw. Davis had two shots off the cross bars and had another couple of close calls. The bottom line is Davis had good opportunities but did not score, that happens in soccer. But to start criticizing the Davis offense for not operating, and saying they were not prepared, now that is a poor call.

I was at the game. It was not quite the all out MMA slugfest that you make it seem to be. The game was indeed physical, but both teams were to blame -if indeed there was any negative component to this game. I don't think there was negative play. Haylee Hull was excellent in carrying out her man-to-man marking responsibilities on Davis' only real scoring threat. The reason Franklin won was because they put away the only real chance that came their way. Davis High lost because they did not adjust to the man-marking scheme that Franklin implemented. Perhaps Mr. Carlson should have moved his top player to the outside of the pitch and thus force Franklin to rethink their approach. He didn't. Davis lost. The game was not decided by missed calls. It was decided by one chance that was put away by a team that was better prepared. Maybe Davis was looking at the playoffs instead of at the opponent before them?
