When the Associated Press votes on its annual Football Championship Subdivision All-America team, UC Davis is never far from their minds. This year, tight end Dean Rogers became most recent Aggie to be honored when the AP announced its picks last week. He joins a distinguished list.
\n
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound senior from Visalia, who was named earlier this month to the AFCA All-America team, is the sixth UCD standout since 2005 to receive AP honors, making the third team. Linebacker Mike Morales earned first-team distinction last year, while free safety Jonathan Barsi (2006) and defensive tackle John Faletoese (2009) also were first-team picks for the Aggies.
\n
Wide receiver Tony Kays (2005) was a second-team selection and offensive lineman Jonathan Compas (2008) received third-team honors.
\n
Rogers, a team captain and three-time all-conference pick, was one of three players from the Great West to earn recognition on this year\’s AP squad, as wide receiver Tysson Poots of Southern Utah was a first-team pick and Cal Poly running back Mark Rodgers joins the UCD player on the third team.
\n
Rogers was second on the Aggie team in catches (30) and receiving yards (404).

\n
For girls looking to be part of a competitive volleyball program but not wishing to join a traveling team, Five Starz offers its Starlets program.
\n
