ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Sacramento’s Nate Freiman launched two home runs Thursday — his fourth and fifth of the season — but the visiting River Cats fell to Albuquerque, 12-7.

Hitter-friendly Isotopes Park lived up to its reputation on Thursday night, as 14 combined runs were scored in the game’s first three innings.

The Cats briefly took the lead with a three-run second inning — highlighted by a Ryan Ortiz solo home run — but the Isotopes scored five times in the bottom of the second to take a 10-4 advantage.

Freiman finished 2-for-4 with two runs, three RBIs and a walk, while Ortiz finished 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBIs and his first long ball of the season.

The two teams complete their series on Friday (6:05 p.m.) before returning to Raley Field Saturday (7:05 p.m.) to start an eight-game homestand.
