Cats score late to win

WEST SACRAMENTO — The River Cats and Colorado Springs traded runs in the final three innings with Sacramento finishing off the 3-2 win with Michael Taylor’s walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth.

Taylor’s hit brought home Michael Choice, who had tripled with one out in the inning.

For the Cats (56-49), Taylor led the way with three hits including a double, Choice’s performance also included a two-bagger and two runs scored, while Grant Green had a pair of hits. Hiro Nakajima didn’t get a hit, but had a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning to tie the game at 1-1 and walked in a run in the seventh to put Sacramento up 2-1.

The Sky Sox (54-50) tallied in the top of the eighth to knot the contest at 2-2 and set up the ninth-inning heroics.
