The Davis High girls golf team posted a team score of 514 to take third place at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I North tournament at El Macero Country Club. The Blue Devils advance to the Masters meet on Nov. 1 at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton.

DHS edged Napa, overcomingDesiree AndersonÕs 85 to finish five strokes ahead. Haley Riesenberg carded a 91 to lead the Blue Devils while Kaity Honeychurch finished with a 101. Kayla Campanelli and Lynzee Kornelly both shot 107Õs while Jain Karishma rounded out DHSÕ top five with a 108. Jihye Lee was the sixth competitor for the Blue Devils and shot a 118.

ÒDavis is proud to be moving on to the Masters tournament,Ó said head coach Rhonda Mohr. ÒWeÕre looking forward to MondayÕs tournament as the course is wide open and the girls could post great scores, which could lead to advancing to NorCals on Nov. 9 in Stockton.Ó

While waiting for the final scorecards to be handed in, Napa thought it was going to be the third team to advance. But Honeychurch, only a freshman, brought in her score of 101, which helped the Devils top the Indians.

St. Francis dominated the competition to win with a 415 while Pleasant Grove was second at 458.
