Devils dominate DVC cross country meet

The Davis High boys and girls cross country teams came into the Delta Valley

Conference championship meet on cruise control and rolled to a pair of titles without being seriously challenged.

The meet was on Saturday at Willow Hills at Folsom High.

The boys were led by a 1-2-3 finish from Trevor Halsted, Brian De La Mora and Braeden Van Deynze. Mac Harvey and Hamid Naemeh rounded out the scoring with sixth- and eighth-place finishes. The boys scored 20 points to outdistance second place Franklin (44 points).

The girls captured the top four spots and defeated second- place Elk Grove, 17-32.

Sophie Meads, Tess Williams, Laney Teaford and Kelly Goss took the top four spots and Kathy Dooley completed the scoring with a seventh-place finish.

The Blue Devils start the next phase of the championship season at the Sac-Joaquin subsections next Saturday at Angels Camp.
