Devils football squad aims for 2-2

COLFAX Ñ Eliminate mistakes. Start fast. Improve on defense. Play strong on special teams. The check list is established and tonight the pressure in on the Davis High football team.

When the Blue Devils travel to Colfax for a 7:30 p.m. nonleague game, it will provide the locals with a chance to even their record at 2-2 and take an important step in the right direction.

DHS head coach Steve Smyte believes his teamÕs problems to date are correctable and that the Devils need to treat tonight and next weekÕs home game with Oakmont as important tune-ups before wading into a new-look Delta Valley Conference beginning Oct. 8.

Davis running backCourtney Williams takes his 356 yards rushing into the Sierra foothills against a Falcon team that is hoping to have its key running back Tommy Baldoni back from a concussion.

Colfax comes into tonight with a 2-1 mark.
