Davis High sophomore Chase Kellison did not drop so much as a point in a golden first set as part of his No. 5 singles win on Tuesday.

The rest of the Blue Devils were nearly as dominant as they blew away Elk Grove, 9-0, at the Davis High Tennis Complex to improve to 2-0 in Delta Valley Conference matches.

Other than Dan Segedin’s still strong 6-4, 6-4 victory at No. 1 singles, DHS didn’t lose more than one game in any other match.

Juniors Tris Dutta and Louis Pak notched 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 2 and 3 singles, while their classmate David Wang did the same at No. 6.

Devil senior Bob Li won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 and Kellison followed his dominating first set by cruising to a 6-1 second-set triumph over Grant Schrader.

The Davis doubles teams had just as easy of a time as the No. 2 duo — juniors Scott Lucio and Jacob Woodard — blanked the Herd squad of Jeff Revello and Lucas Hansera, 6-0, 6-0.

Victor Li/Alex Chen at No. 1 and Cooper Hosley/Drake Malone at No. 3 posted 6-0, 6-1 victories for the Blue Devils, who will host Franklin on Monday at 3:45 p.m.
