DHS looking to deal the Cards a bad hand

By From page B1 | October 25, 2013

The Davis High football players and coaches were disappointed with how they performed in the first two Delta Valley Conference games of the season, and that might be bad news for Laguna Creek.

The Blue Devils (4-3, 0-2 DVC) are hoping the DHS squad that reeled off four consecutive victories heading into DVC play shows up to play the Cardinals (1-6, 0-2) on Friday night at Elk Grove High.

When the game kicks off at 7:15 p.m., look for bounce-back performances from bruising Devil RB Winfred Roberson (542 rushing yards and five TDs so far in 2013) and speedy RB Talek Deary to be balanced out by Davis’ emerging aerial attack.

Local QB Quinten Jones, who may be supplemented at times by senior signal-caller Emilio Barba, will be looking to find wide receiver Nate Curtis, a junior who has scored all three of the Blue Devils’ touchdowns in the past two contests.
