DHS renews football rivalry with Woodland

In the long gridiron rivalry between Davis and Woodland highs, the games have featured many star-studded performances from players at both schools.

When the two teams match up on Friday at Brown Stadium, is it junior Quinten Jones’ turn to have a breakout game for the Blue Devils (3-1)?

The DHS quarterback is coming off of his best outing of the season, 147 yards and a touchdown pass in last week’s home opener, a win over Rio Americano.

With the Wolves (1-3) geared up to stop the potent Devil running game — and struggling so far this season against the pass — Devil coach Mark Hicks could let Jones air it out.

WHS, however, is looking for revenge after Davis’ 40-0 victory in Woodland a year ago.

The cross-county rivals will take the field at 7:15 p.m.
