The first kick hasnÕt been made and already itÕs tough to keep up with the bouncing ball of the football season Ñ at least if youÕre a Blue Devils fan.
Construction at Halden Field on the Davis High campus is forcing the locals to hold off until Oct. 1 (vs. Oakmont) for their first real home game. But it looked like DHS caught a break last week when it was announced that the season-opener with Armijo would be played at Pioneer High on Sept. 3.
At that time, it was also understood that the Devils would get their matchup against Sacramento High on Sept. 11 moved to Friday, Sept. 10, also at Pioneer.
Now comes word from DHS athletic director Dennis Foster that the Sacramento game is truly a Dragons home date and will, in fact, be played as originally scheduled Ñ Saturday, Sept. 11, 1 p.m. on the road. The Armijo/Davis contest remains at Pioneer.
The snafu occurred prior to FosterÕs arrival at DHS a month ago. Foster also announced that the Blue Devils have scheduled six home games for 2011, including getting Sac High at Halden Field in Week 2.
