ALAMEDA — The Oakland Raiders have signed former UC Davis quarterback J.T. O\’Sullivan

\n

as an emergency replacement for injured Bruce Gradkowski, who was placed on season-ending injury reserve.

\n

The move Thursday comes a day after Gradkowski expressed hope that he could return from his second shoulder injury before the end of the season. But Raiders head coach Tom Cable says it is unlikely Gradkowski would have been able to return before then.

O\’Sullivan, 31, was last on San Diego\’s roster before being cut in October. Oakland plays the Chargers this week.

\n

In signing with the Raiders, it marks the 11th NFL team with which he has been associated. Drafted by New Orleans as a sixth-rounder in 2002, O\’Sullivan has played 17 career games, making eight starts for San Francisco in 2008.

After passing for 10,745 yards and 94 touchdowns for the Aggies, O\’Sullivan also played in NFL Europe, leading the Frankfurt Galaxy to a World Bowl XV championship in 2004.

\n

The Jesuit High graduate has been on the rosters of Minnesota, Chicago (twice), the Saints and 49ers, New England, Carolina, Detroit, the Chargers, Green Bay and Cincinnati before coming to Oakland.
