By
February 21, 2014 |

A free basketball skills clinic for girls and boys in kindergarten through third grade will be offered Sunday at Harper Junior High, 4000 E. Covell Blvd.
Presented by the NorCal Wildcats Basketball Club, the clinic is designed to introduce young athletes to the proper skills and technique of basketball while helping to develop a passion for the game, organizers said.

Kids in second and third grades go from 2 to 3:15 p.m. with kindergartners and first-graders at 3:30 p.m.

Interested parties can register online at www.davishoops.com.

The club also is having a pasta feed fundraiser Sunday, March 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Veterans’ Memorial Center, 203 E. 14th St. Tickets are $20 and may be purchased online or at the door.

Meanwhile, the AAU-affiliated organization is conducting tryouts for high school-aged players. Boys 15U, 16U and 17U teams will try out March 2, 9, 15 and 16, and girls will try out on March 8, 9 and 12.

Again, more information about times and locations is available at the Wildcats’ website.
