FRESNO — Sacramento’s Nick Buss went 4-for-5 with a run scored on Tuesday at Chukchansi Park, but the Fresno Grizzlies surged past the visiting River Cats, 14-2.

The Cats (53-39) opened the game by scoring both of their runs in the top of the first inning on Andy Parrino’s run-scoring single and an RBI hit by Daric Barton.

Fresno (45-48), however, responded with six runs in the bottom of the first and never looked back. The big frame was highlighted by a two-run homer from Adam Duvall, his first of two long balls in the game.

Buss’ four-hit performance paced the River Cats, while Jake Elmore and Luis Exposito each had two hits.

Lefty Tommy Milone will make his first start of 2014 for the Sacramento on Wednesday as the River Cats are back at Fresno for a 7:05 p.m. contest.
