MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Grant Green led the charge on Thursday night at AutoZone Park, recording a three-hit night in the Sacramento River Cats’ 5-3 victory over the host Memphis Redbirds.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak for the first-place Cats.

Green paced the Sacramento offense, stroking two singles and a two-run double, which was the River Cats’ only extra-base hit of the game. It turned out to be more than enough for southpaw Justin Thomas (1-2), who held Memphis to just one earned run in six innings of work.

Thomas walked two and struck out one, throwing 50 of his 83 pitches for strikes, and closer Dan Otero  picked up his eighth save of the year in as many chances.

Sacramento and Memphis conclude the series Friday night at 5:05 p.m.
