With the way she is piling up kills and attacks, UC Davis senior volleyball standout Allison Whitson must have some of the country’s top military officials knocking down her door trying to recruit her.

Whitson, who already has solidified herself in second place on the program’s all-time list for kills (1,608) and attacks (4,452), added to her totals with two huge matches last weekend at home.

The Greiner Athlete of the Week celebrated her final home outings by striking for a career-best 25 kills as UCD downed Cal State Northridge on Friday, then added 10 kills, two aces and seven digs as the Aggies gave No. 7 Hawaii a run for its money.

“When (Whitson) is on, she has a very high kill percentage, and she can really take over a match,” Aggie coach Jamie Holmes told The Enterprise earlier this season. “She is certainly one of the more physical outside hitters in the conference.”
