Though it’s what the Davis High girls lacrosse team has come to expect from Kylie Drexel, the senior’s sustained high level of play was exceptional even for her as the Blue Devils played matches on five consecutive days last week.

To make things even more challenging, the Greiner Athlete of the Week opened the five-game stretch — during which she scored 15 goals and added six assists — with a gimpy ankle that limited her playing time in a close loss to Oak Ridge last Tuesday. No matter, though, Drexel still managed to post a hat trick.

On Wednesday, the USC-bound standout had three more goals and a pair of assists to help DHS win at Redwood.

That was followed by perhaps Drexel’s best game of the week, a five-goal performance against St. Francis in which she won more draw controls (12) than the entire opposing team (11).

Drexel finished the week with a goal and an assist in an easy win over Bella Vista on Friday and a line of three and two when the Devils fell to Novato on Saturday.
