WEST SACRAMENTO — Three different Sacramento hitters homered, including Michael Taylor who went 2-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBIs in a 10-2 River Cats win over the Colorado Springs Sky Sox on Monday night at Raley Field.
Jemile Weeks started the action with the Cats’ first leadoff home run of the season, then Taylor and Shane Peterson added RBIs in a four-run first inning.
Sacramento put the game out of reach with five more runs in the second inning, including Andy Parrino’s fourth homer and Taylor’s grand slam.
Left-handed reliever Shaeffer Hall earned the win for the River Cats with three scoreless innings.
The Cats, who have reached double digits in three of the past five games, improved to 14-0 when scoring more than 10 runs.
Taylor’s multi-RBI performance was his 16th of the season, five more than Stephen Vogt, who was named Pacific Coast League Player of the Week on Monday.
Vogt hit .611 with 11 RBIs and three home runs in Sacramento’s four-game series in Salt Lake last week.
