WEST SACRAMENTO — Early offense helped propel the Sacramento River Cats over Oklahoma City, 7-4, in a Tuesday series finale at Raley Field.

The Cats (73-58) ended a three-game losing streak — all against the RedHawks (68-64) — by scoring four times in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Sacramento second baseman Colin Walsh delivered a two-run single to center before a sacrifice fly by right fielder Craig Gentry and an RBI single by center fielder Nick Buss doubled the River Cats’ lead.

Oklahoma’s Max Stassi, who prepped at Yuba City, answered with a solo shot in the top of the third — his seventh home run of the season.

Later, Cats’ PCL MVP candidate Shane Peterson hit his 11th homer, a two-run blast in the sixth inning. The left fielder went 1-for-3 with two runs scored, two walks and his 81st and 82nd RBI of 2014.

Shortstop Jose Martinez added three hits and two runs scored, while third baseman Alden Carrithers reached base three times for the River Cats, who now head out on the road for a four-game set at Memphis. The opener is set for Wednesday at 5:05 p.m.
