The Davis High boys introduced themselves to the Sacramento Valley Lacrosse League this spring by going 12-0 in their inaugural conference campaign.
Opposing coaches took notice of the Blue Devils (17-4 overall) and recognized their dominance when it came time to vote on the all-league teams.
The outstanding DHS award haul includes SVLL Player of the Year Mikie Schlosser and Coach of the Year Nick Juri. Seniors Willie Hawkins, Rudy Buhlman and Will McPherson are joined by junior Kian Reno on the all-conference first team, while junior Connal Hart earned second-team status. Devil junior Ryan Amesbury was selected as honorable mention.
In additional awards announced recently, Schlosser was picked as an All-American by the Northern California Chapter of U.S. Lacrosse, which also named Juri its coach of the year.
The organization also named Davis man Don Aiello as its Man of the Year. Aiello was instrumental in creating the DHS boys program and, as the longtime president of the Davis Lacrosse Association, has led an explosion of youth lacrosse around the area.
