The U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame is accepting nominations through April 1 for the Class of 2014.

Four categories are available for induction into the national shrine, based in Davis at 303 Third St.

Visit www.usbhof.org/nomination-process to discover how to submit packets suggesting cycling contributors in modern road and track (1981-2009), veteran road and track (1980 and before), off-road competitor (mountain bike, BMX, cyclocross) and contributor to the sport of cycling.

Completed forms should be submitted at the website, according to organization spokeswomen Sabrina Vigil.

DHS cheerleading

Those interested in trying out for next school year’s Blue Devil cheer squad — and a parent or guardian — should attend one of two upcoming information nights at DHS Library.

The meetings are set for 6 p.m. on Monday, April 7, and Thursday, April 10.

Tryouts will be Friday, April 18, beginning at 4:30 p.m. in the DHS dance room, but cheer hopefuls are asked to arrive by 4 p.m. for check-in.

For more information visit www.dhscheer.org or contact Blanca Boyd blancalowry@sbcglobal.net.

Blue & White tournament

The 10th annual Blue & White Golf Tournament is Friday, May 16, at Wildhorse Golf Course. This scramble-format tournament begins at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Check-in begins at 11:30 a.m.

Individual golf fees are $150 per individual, $600 for a foursome. Dinner-only tickets are $25.

All proceeds go to the Davis High School Blue & White Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to encourage, strengthen and sustain the interaction between DHS and its alumni and friends and to encourage philanthropic support for DHS.

Online registration is available at www.blueandwhitegolf.com.

Sports physicals

Athletes in grade 7-12 planning on participating on junior high or Blue Devil sports teams during the 2014-15 school year may take their required physicals on Saturday, June 7, at Sutter Family Medicine, 2030 Sutter Place from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

A $20 donation will benefit the DHS athletics department.

For more information, contact athletic secretary Laurie Williams at 530-757-5400 ext. 125.
