The Davis High girls used strong performances across the board on Wednesday to defeat Buhach Colony, 252-270, at Rancho del Rey golf course in Atwater.
Playing nine holes, the Blue Devils got 45s from Emily Masiel and River Xiang as the pair tied for second place behind BC standout Shelby Sigh.
Casey Harris shot 51, Yubin Oh put up a 55 and senior Sydney Rosenblum carded a 56 for DHS, which competes next in a home match against Will C. Wood at Wildhorse on Tuesday.
DHS graduate Joe Chambers led the Americans with 17 points and nine rebounds, but Team USA was upset, 59-50, by Turkey in the first Group A wheelchair basketball contest at the 2012 Paralympics in London.
Chambers is in his second Paralympics as the center for Team USA, which will take on Italy on Friday.
Young athletes of all ages are invited to participate in a free tennis play day in Davis on Saturday.
Players will be divided by age group with Red Tennis (ages 8 and under) scheduled for 8 to 9:30 a.m and Orange Tennis (12 and under) set for 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Green Tennis (teenagers) follows from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
