Davis Aquatic Masters is celebrating its 40th year as an organized adult swim team and invites all current and former members and coaches to attend the party.
On Saturday, Aug, 9, DAM will host a luau from 6 to 11 p.m. featuring a catered dinner, beverages, entertainment, dancing and a brief program MC’d by head coach Stu Kahn.
“This celebration is a testament to swimmers, coaches and supporters who have allowed the club to prosper and endure and reach our current membership of 500-plus,” Kahn explained.
Included in the evening will be the DAM version of “Duel in the Pool,” a handicapped race between Ernie Hoftyzer and Rick Moss. Hoftyzer successfully completed the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim last month, finishing in less than eight hours, while Moss has been training hard in workouts hoping to outsprint his teammate in this fundraiser for charity.
