The Davis Hoops Wildcats — a local nonprofit AAU basketball club that attracts players from Davis, Dixon, Woodland and surrounding areas — is presenting a one-day Junior Wildcats holiday camp on Sunday for boys and girls ages 5-9. The event will run from 1 to 5 p.m. at the old Dixon High School gym, 455 E. A St. in Dixon.
The cost of $65 includes a T-shirt and a basketball, as well as instruction from experienced coaches.
The mission of the Junior Wildcats is to introduce young athletes to the proper skills and technique of basketball while helping to develop a passion for the game, all in a fun and well-organized structure.
Buy, sell, trade or donate gear for athletes in youth leagues through high school at the third annual Boys Lacrosse Swap set for Saturday.
Admission is free for the event, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Holmes Junior High multipurpose room, 1220 Drexel Drive.
In addition to bargains on used equipment, gear and clothing, Lacrosse Fanatic will be on site selling helmets, stringing supplies and other gear. Discount starter packages also will be available.
Families should bring cash, though checks may be accepted, and Lacrosse Fanatic will take credit cards.
Donations will help support the Davis High boys lacrosse teams. Drop off donations at 1804 Titian Place before Thursday, or request pickup by emailing email@example.com or calling 530-297-5412. Otherwise, bring donations to the swap.
