American Legion Post 77 will host its annual crab and prawn feed on Saturday, Jan. 26, at the Yolo County Fairgrounds on Gum Avenue in Woodland.

The event is designed to provide support for American Legion baseball as well as other youth sports.

The dinner costs $40 and will begin at 7:30 p.m. following a no-host social hour that starts at 6 p.m.

To buy tickets or get more information on the event, including being involved in the fundraising, call the American Legion club room at 530-662-9772 between 1 and 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

UCD softball camp

The Aggie program will host a College ID Winter Softball Camp for girls in grades 8-11 on Saturday, Jan. 19. The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at La Rue Field.

Directed by UCD head coach Karen Yoder and assistants Danielle Stines and Vicky Rios, the camp is an opportunity for athletes to display their talents and receive individualized feedback and instruction on all aspects of their game.

For more information or to register, visit www.ucdavissportscamps.com/softball.

DHS cheer clinic

Davis High cheerleaders will conduct Cheer Clinic 2013 from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, Jan. 27, at DHS’ South Gym.

Hopefuls ages 6 to 13 are invited to learn cheers, jumps, tumbling and dance from the award-winning Blue Devil cheerleaders and their coaches.

Cost for the session is $40 in advance and $45 at the event. The fee includes a T-shirt, small group instruction by age, snacks and beverages, and a free ticket to the Feb. 1 DHS boys basketball game, which is Break the Record Night. Clinic participants also will have a chance to perform on the court that night with the Devil cheerleaders.

To learn more and reserve a spot, contact Megan Hupe at 530-753-0424 or meganhupe@gmail.com.
