On Friday, members of the UC Davis women’s gymnastics team showed once again that they had time to hit the books while posting another successful season on the mat.

Aggie seniors Katie Yamamura and Michelle Ho, along with redshirt freshman Cassandra Quebral and the UCD squad as a whole earned National Association of Collegiate Gymnastics Coaches/Women Academic Awards. The Aggies were among the 67 programs with combined grade-point averages of 3.0 or better.

To capture individual NACGC/W academic distinction, gymnasts must have a yearlong or cumulative GPA of 3.5 or better.

Yamamura led the Aggies with a 3.94 GPA in her major of neurobiology, physiology and behavior to earn her fourth NACGC/W award, while Ho and Quebral each captured their second such honor.
