With the Davis High boys volleyball season around the corner and the Blue Devil girls in preparation for next fall, coach Julie Crawford has events planned for all local players.
For prospective DHS boys team members, conditioning and open gym time start in January leading up to tryouts, which begin Feb. 4.
Players must have physical exams and concussion screening completed prior to tryouts.
For girls in grades 8-12 interested in playing Devil volleyball, an offseason training program begins Jan. 8 at the Fitness Garage, 1403 Fifth St., Suite G.
The program meets Tuesday and Thursdays and players can come from 3 to 4 p.m. or 4 to 5 p.m.
For more information, contact Crawford at jcrawford@djusd.net.
Taking a break to allow staff and volunteers enjoy the holidays, the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame has suspended daily operation until the new year.
Anthony Costello of Davis, president of the Hall’s board of directors, says the facility will reopen sometime right after the first of the year. Hours and days of operation will be announced.
The Hall is at 303 Third St. in downtown Davis.
